Relocation Roadmap for Medical Professionals

Once you have decided to relocate it's time to start the relocation process. And lucky for you, you don't have to do it alone! As a real estate professional focused on physician relocation I'm here to help guide you through all of these key relocation steps to help make your relocation as stress free as possible. I developed this roadmap to give you an idea of what the key steps are between deciding to relocate and moving into your home sweet home.

Step 1: Find the Southern Oregon town that is right for you. I have a proven discovery process, as well as a range of handouts and resources, that will help you get a feel for all the towns to ensure you end up finding your best fit.

Step 2: Contact 2-3 different mortgage lenders to compare rates and products (physician loan, conventional, fixed rate, etc). When you find a fit, get a pre-approval letter so you know how much you qualify for. And remember, just because you qualify for a certain amount doesn't mean you should spend that amount. Step 3: Home buying consultation! Meet with Chelsea to determine your wants, nice-to-haves, don't wants, home investment goals, etc. We will also discuss the current market and start an MLS account.

Step 4: The fun part…start your home search! This can be done in person or virtually.

Step 5: Make an offer and negotiate if needed.

Step 6: Offer accepted. You are now in escrow!

Step 7: Schedule inspections and negotiate inspection repair or credits.

Step 8: Final walk through of the home.

Step 9: Closing: final underwriting (loan commitment), wire funds, title commitment, insurance, utilities in your name, deed recorded.

Step 10: Congratulations! You're a homeowner!
